Common questions
"Is this real-time?"
No — and that's the honest answer upfront. Watchlist and alert prices refresh every 15 minutes; scan card prices update 3× per trading day with the pattern scan. If you need tick-by-tick data for day trading or scalping, Hawkeye is the wrong tool. If you're a swing trader — holding positions for days to weeks, buying breakouts from multi-week bases — 15-minute quote updates and a 3× daily scan are more than enough. The setup you're trading took 6 weeks to form. A 15-minute data delay doesn't change whether it's valid.
"Can't I just use Finviz or TradingView?"
Both are general-purpose tools. Finviz lets you build your own screener from scratch. TradingView is a charting platform. Neither speaks Minervini. Hawkeye is the only scanner where VCP, Stage 2, RS rank, and pivot proximity are the defaults — not things you configure. The methodology is the product. No setup. Open it, pick a pattern, get a shortlist.
"What if no patterns are firing in a bear market?"
